So you had just about given up on Halloween as a fun holiday for adults too, did you?  When was the last time you actually had plans on Halloween?  Watching horror movies on the couch until the sun comes up, because you

are too scared to go in the bedroom while it is still dark out doesn’t count as plans!

Halloween is  left for the kids now since no one you know even dresses up anymore, and the parties are much too tame now that most everyone who was ever any fun at parties is either in rehab or still recovering from it.  You have finally grown to  accept and agree that Halloween is for the little ones, trick or treating in their cute little gobblins or superhero costumes. Putting mini snickers in their candy bags then later eating the leftover tootsie rolls and pixie sticks is pretty much what Halloween is really all about these days anyway, right?  Wrong!

Here it is October 31st and you actually have a party to go to, no costume and no clue as to where to even get one.  Well, if this is the case, you are in luck because you have stumbled onto your Halloween Fairy Godmother with the 411 for your 911!  Get ready to hustle as it always takes longer than you’d expect, and you are going to have to do a little running about to pull this off  but with a little patience and motivation it can be done.

Costume ideas.  You probably already have a costume in your closet and didnt even know it!

Sexy Librarian: Almost every woman has a pencil skirt, a white button down collar shirt and black stockings.  Theres the foundation, now just add horn-rimmed glasses and book.  Hair up in a bun and a black eyeliner pencil dot mole (think Cindy Crawford) and you’re ready to go.  Make sure you show some cleavage, and it doesnt hurt if the book is The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty by A. N. Roquelaure to add to the “sexy theme”.  Your local Barnes and Noble Bookstore should have in it stock, call ahead and have the clerk leave you a copy at the register, so you canjust run in and pick it up on your way to Rite Aid or Walgreens to get a bottle of Revlon Red nail polish… Details are important for authenticity in Halloween costumes and what sexy librarian worth her cleavage doesnt have Revlon Red nails? For approx $5.00, it’s well worth  it!

 Sexy Cat Burglar Jewel Thief: If you have black tight pants (leather or pleather work best), a tight black turtleneck, black shoes or boots,  and a black wool cap you’re just about ready to go on the big jewelry heist, or at least get alot of attention! 

The secret here is the clothes have to be tight tight tight.  If you have curly hair, use a straightening iron on it to get it silky smooth and stick straight (think Lucy Liu of Charlies Angels).  You won’t need too much makeup for this costume, just focus on the eyes.  Fake eyelashes will work best if you have time to get some or have some in a drawer somewhere. 

Also get out the black eyeliner and smoke it up!

Don’t forget your accessories like a rope and a big black utility belt (you can get all the accessories you’ll need for  this “job” at your local army surplus or sporting good store), and don’t forget the black gloves too!
